GuardianEdge was named a finalist in the 2009 SC Awards program for outstanding achievement in information technology (IT) security. The GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform was named in the Best Mobile Device Security Solution category of the Reader Trust Award competition, which honors best-in-class security products and services.

GuardianEdge was positioned by industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant of the 2008 “Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection” report.

GuardianEdge was a recipient of the Red Herring 100 North America, an award given to the top 100 private technology companies headquartered in the region. Selections were made based on technological innovation, excellence in management, strong corporate financials and the breadth of each company’s partner and customer base.

GuardianEdge announced a new solution that integrates GuardianEdge endpoint data protection with the Symantec Altiris® Total Management Suite™ software. The “GuardianEdge Altiris Connector” allows organizations to consolidate data protection on end-user devices into the Altiris Management Console.

GuardianEdge announced it has signed an OEM agreement with Symantec to incorporate the GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption and GuardianEdge Removable Storage products into Symantec Endpoint Encryption.

2008

GuardianEdge announces the availability of GuardianEdge Device Control, which provides peripheral device access control for enterprise endpoints while leveraging the scalability and convenience of the GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform.

GuardianEdge announces record results, with a greater than 90 percent increase in bookings year-over-year as well as the addition of 200 customers to its global roster of global clients. The ongoing customer success and strong growth is a powerful endorsement of the GuardainEdge product vision and business strategy.

GuardianEdge announces a strategic relationship with Seagate Technology that leverages the GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform for management of Seagate’s encrypting notebook hard drive, combining strong hard disk security with GuardianEdge's advanced enterprise management capabilities.

GuardianEdge introduces the GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform, the first enterprise-class solution for managing the protection of information on endpoint devices. The Platform is made up of three core endpoint data protection applications that are delivered using a highly scalable client-server infrastructure.

2007

The US Department of Veterans Affairs Selects GuardianEdge's data protection platform and Trust Digital's mobile device solutions to protect sensitive information on 300,000 PCs, removable storage devices, smart phones and PDAs.

GuardianEdge Technologies Inc. announces record sales of software licenses for its data protection software products, achieving a 300% year-over-year increase in enterprise licenses sales. Including 2005 year-end results, sales of GuardianEdge products have exceed 2 million licenses worldwide.

2006

PC Guardian Technologies officially changes its name to GuardianEdge Technologies Inc. after raising $6 million Series A venture capital funding. The company takes several strategic steps to ensure that it is poised to meet growing demand by large IT organizations for its data protection solutions:

  • The company expands operations with East Coast and Federal Government Sales offices, relocates corporate headquarters to a larger site in San Francisco and increases staffing in key areas.
  • GuardianEdge announces the Encryption Anywhere Data Protection Platform as an integrated framework for enterprise data security.
  • GuardianEdge Announces Alan Fudge as President and CEO, with founder Noah Groth moving to position of CTO.

2005

PC Guardian Technologies is spun off as a standalone entity. The company introduces the Encryption Plus Management Console, a server program for managing Encryption Plus Hard Disk users in real time. Encryption Plus Hard Disk begins validation testing for EAL4 under the Common Criteria.

2004

Encryption Plus Hard Disk 7.0 is certified by the US Government to Evaluation Assurance Level 1 (EAL1) under the International Common Criteria for IT Security Evaluation (ISO15408). Encryption Plus Hard Disk 7.0 is certified by Australian Defense Signals Directorate (DSD), Australia's national authority for information security certification.

PC Guardian Technologies launches a Japanese-language version of Encryption Plus Hard Disk, sold and supported through Tokyo-based Global Software Network (known in Japan as Broad Corporation).

2003

PC Guardian Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PC Guardian, is formed. PC Guardian Technologies releases Encryption Plus Hard Disk 7.0 — a major new product update that uses a FIPS-compliant 256-bit AES algorithm.

2002

PC Guardian opens sales office in the United Kingdom.

2000

PC Guardian introduces four additional data protection solutions:

  • Encryption Plus Folders — folders/file encryption solution
  • Encryption Plus CD-ROM — CD-ROM encryption solution
  • Encryption Plus Secure Export — removable media encryption solution
  • Encryption Plus Email — Email encryption solution

1995 - 1999

PC Guardian introduces Encryption Plus® Hard Disk, which encrypts 100% of computer hard drives and provides mandatory pre-boot access control to PCs. Begins marketing to large public and private sector enterprises.

1994

Compaq Computer Corporation retains PC Guardian to develop a pre-boot access control device for use on portable computers. Leads to the creation of an enterprise encryption software development strategy.

1993

Micro Security Devices Inc. is formed to create simple-to-use computer anti-theft products for corporate and government computer users. Begins immediately to market solutions under the PC Guardian name.

1984
