Selection Marks the Largest Outsourced Managed Seat Contract for Endpoint Data Protection in the World
SAN FRANCISCO – March 10, 2009 – GuardianEdge, the leader in endpoint data protection, today announced it has been selected by EDS, an HP company, as the premier provider of endpoint data protection solutions for the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) program. Under the terms of the agreement, up to 350,000 seats of GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption, GuardianEdge Advanced Authentication and GuardianEdge Removable Storage Encryption products will be deployed to Navy and Marine Corps desktops, laptops and removable media within the continental United States.
The GuardianEdge selection by EDS marks the largest outsourced managed seat contract of endpoint data protection in the world. The full deployment of data protection technology began in February 2009. To qualify for this contract, GuardianEdge needed to be part of the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Data-at-rest (DAR) Encryption awards. The company was also required to undergo an extensive, 15-month pilot program in the NMCI labs to ensure that the proposed solutions could scale to the size of this deployment.
